The purpose of the study - the formation of the national economy in Azerbaijan in modern times, among other issues, reflects the urgency of sectoral regulation. In terms of content, this regulation includes a wide range of areas. Thus, in the current situation, it is necessary to properly assess the role of the state in sectoral regulation. The long-term establishment of the administrative command system and its inconsistency with the "parameters" of independence, along with the general picture of the economy, require a renewed view of the implementation of activities in individual areas in accordance with modern requirements and a perfect and flexible state regulation. envisages the creation of a system.

The methodology of the research- consists of a systematic and comprehensive approach, comparative analysis, as well as methodological approaches and methods on the problems of efficiency of state regulation in modern areas.

 The practical importance of the research - the materials provided in the study and the results obtained can be used in the development of systematic measures, integrated approaches to address the problems of regional specifics and national economic interests in the management of the economy of Azerbaijan.
