The purpose of the study is to substantiate the directions of efficient use of the recreational potential of tourism and existing infrastructure in the country at the level of the world economy, to develop scientifically substantiated proposals and recommendations to improve the organizational and economic mechanism of its development.

The methodology of the research – while writing the article and in the substantiation of new directions methods such as observation, comparison, dialectical approach, economic-statistical research and other have been used.

The practical importance of the research - the  applied significance of the article lies on  the fact the results gained and the proposals put forward can be used to accelerate socio-economic growth in Azerbaijan and its regions,to improve living standards,to increase employment in the country.

The results of the study. The article examines the trends in the development of national economies, including tourism, under the influence of changes in the world economy in accordance with the processes of globalization, and makes specific recommendations.
