The purpose of the research is to study the essence of Azerbaijan's industrial policy, to identify the features of its implementation in modern conditions. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were solved: the features of the formation of industrial policy were identified, the current state of the development of industrial production in Azerbaijan was analyzed, measures were proposed to improve the process of implementing the industrial policy.

The methodology of the research is based on the works of foreign scientists in the field of industrial policy using methods of statistical analysis and dynamic comparisons.

The practical importance of the research lies in the fact that its main results can be used in the development of measures to regulate industrial policy.

The originality and scientific novelty of the research - the main goal of the national industrial policy, ways of achieving this goal are identified, the main priorities and driving forces of industrial policy are considered.
