The purpose of the research is to diversify the non-oil industry and increase its export potential in Azerbaijan. The prospects of diversification of non-oil industry in the country are explored for this purpose. The prospects of the sphere of activity with high potential for development of non-oil industry are studied. Problems of organization of competitive enterprises in non-oil industry based on local raw materials are investigated. Prospects for increasing export potential of non-oil industry are analyzed. The importance of increasing the production of export-oriented and competitive products by putting into operation processing plants based on new technologies are justified.

The methodology of the research consists of systematic and comparative analysis, methodo-logical approaches and ways to diversify non-oil industry and increase its export potential in Azerbaijan.

The practical importance of the research: the results and material of the study can be used in the development of government programs, strategies and conceptual approaches in the areas of diversification of non-oil industry and enhancement of export potential in Azerbaijan.

The results of the research consist of relevant recommendations and proposals in the areas of diversification of non-oil industry and enhancement of its export potential in Azerbaijan in modern conditions.

The originality and scientific novelty of the research: objective approaches on problems that prevent accelerated development of non-oil industry, increase of its export potential and, in general, efficiency of this industry are defined. There is a deeper scientific argument to make the most effective use of the capabilities of the non-oil industry. The importance of intensification of development of non-oil industry based on oil and gas raw materials resources is justified. The efficiency of attracting private sector entities and investors in processes of oil and gas raw materials processing is investigated. The expediency of building new processing complexes in different spheres of non-oil industry is noted. The author's interpretation of the problems under consideration is given.
