The purpose of the research. The aim of the study is to analyze the reforms in the agricultural sector, optimize the mechanisms for regulating the industry, and determine the priorities for the development of the industry. The study is aimed at substantiating the need for changes in the agricultural sector, the direction of reforms for the development of the industry, analysis of the problems affecting the development of the industry, and the need to solve them, determination of development prospects.

The methodology of the research. The work used the methods of comparative analysis, logical generalization and grouping. In the course of the study, the goals of the development of the agricultural sector, sub-goals, their relationship with other systems, and their regulation by the state were analyzed.

The practical importance of the research. The results and recommendations of the study can be taken into account by state bodies and agricultural enterprises to ensure more effective management of the agrarian reform processes.

The results of the research. As a result of the study, recommendations were made to improve the efficiency of the agricultural sector. Practical proposals were made to improve efficiency, apply legal support mechanisms, implement and monitor measures to reform the agricultural management system, and improve governance and information provision.

The originality and scientific novelty of the research. Reforms and changes related to the regulation of agricultural activities are analyzed by periods, shortcomings, existing problems and their connection with the socio-economic development of the country are identified, which indicates the scientific novelty of the study.
