The purpose of the research - is to assess the economic basis of cooperation between the countries of the region in the implementation of economic projects in the South Caucasus region.

The methodology of the research - comparative analysis, statistical approach and author's generalization approaches prevailed in the economic evaluation of foreign economic relations, especially large projects in the countries of the region.

The practical importance of the research - the provisions mentioned in the article and the practical results obtained can play an important role in further deepening cooperation between the countries of the region, further strengthening the foreign economic activity of Azerbaijani economy.

The results of the research - looking at the perspective period, we can see that in the future, as more projects are implemented and new projects are developed, the volume of international cargo transportation through the territory of Azerbaijan will gradually increase. The implementation of such projects will not only bring long-term benefits to Azerbaijan, but also strengthen Azerbaijan international cooperation, build up interstate ties and reinforce interdependence.

The originality and scientific novelty of the research - the article refers to the views of various authors on the basis of a number of approaches. The advantages of Azerbaijan foreign economic activity for the long term, especially in the implementation of large projects have been identified.
