A B S T R A C T

The purpose of the research  – the main objective of the research is to identify modern trends in the application of technologies in the field of alternative energy, analyze the level of technological development of renewable energy sources, and assess their global development prospects.

The methodology of the research – the study employs comparative analysis, statistical data analysis, classification, and generalization methods. Renewable energy sources are systematized according to their scale of application, technological characteristics, and potential.

The practical importance of the research – the research findings can be used in the development of alternative energy projects, substantiation of investment decisions, formulation of energy policy, as well as in further scientific research in the field of renewable energy.

The results of the research – the study evaluates the current state of the global market for the main types of renewable energy sources and provides a general assessment of their commercial competitiveness compared to traditional fossil fuels. The development prospects of alternative energy technologies are also identified.
