A B S T R A C T

The purpose of the research is to assess the current state and development potential of agrotourism in Azerbaijan, to substantiate the factors that determine its development.

The methodology of the research – the research was conducted in accordance with the existing state program, legislation, Strategic Road Map and researches of economists related to tourism.

The practical importance of the research – the main provisions and proposals of the research can be used for strategic development purposes related to the development of tourism.

The results of the research –can allow to solve existing problems for the development of agrotourism.

The originality and scientific novelty of the research – the article examines the development features of agrotourism, evaluates foreign experiences of agrotourism, the current situation and problems in the country. Proposals are made on the limitations that hinder the development of agrotourism, and on the organizational and economic potentials that determine the development of tourism.
