The purpose of the research. One of the elements of the Innovation Infrastructure is to determine the role of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the economic development of the country and its pros and cons.

The methodology of the research. The research was conducted in accordance with the reports, prepared by the World Bank and its affiliates, and the methods, techniques and approaches of the researchers to the development of SEZs.

The practical importance of the research. The results of the study can be used to stimulate the development of the country, attract foreign investment and make certain adjustments in the country.

Depending on the goals established, the country's infrastructure, the country's policy and geographical location, the establishment and increase of the number of SEZs is a key factor in economic development.

The importance of the creation of Special Economic Zones and their impact on the economy has been studied on the basis of the experience of Asian countries.
