The purpose of the research is to assess the state of public spending in the country, especially the use of budget expenditures.

The methodology of the research-comparative analysis, statistical approach, and experimental approaches prevailed when evaluating the use of public expenditures in the national economy.

The practical importance of the research-- the provisions mentioned in the article and the practical results obtained can play an important role in the development of the national economy of Azerbaijan.

The results of the research - looking at the period under review, it can be seen that the statistics, including international ratings, indicate that the reduction of public expenditures, in the long run, is not the goal.

The originality and scientific novelty of the research - the article refers to the views of various authors based on several approaches. There is little connection between the increase in budget expenditures in Azerbaijan for the period under review and the increase in GDP.
